was surprised that 'apple' - known for 'deep thinking' about products termed it incorrectly...

Apple didn't write that

a 24 year old marketing/web person working for a contractor in a cubicle devoid of any windows wrote it!

Deployant. No question.

Many places will use Deployment (even my damn spell check is suggesting it right now). Which does not make it right.

Damn idiots!

This is not a question lol (like "nucular vs. nuclear"). It's DEPLOYANT. Deployment is for troops. But the confusion...

... persists and is exacerbated by brands from time to time. Apple isn't the only brand to use "deployment." I know I saw it a few years ago with a different brand, but I can't recall which one.

Yes, and it was a Swiss brand, I'm pretty sure.

Although it could have been second party advertising (dealer, not brand itself). I cannot remember which brand.

Very good! [nt]

Thank you for telling us how to properly spell it!

Deployant and Deployment are both wrong!

Perhaps it's a matter of translation.

The word deployant doesn't exist in English and the proper spelling of the word in its native French would be déployante. It seems the closest word in English would be deployment. Of course this may not really be the reason but it's the best I can come up...

What's the Big deal...

While I appreciate Clymer's intention of educating aspiring watch collectors about the proper dos and don'ts, I'm so accustomed to hearing deployant/deployment that it doesn't phase me at all.

the difference is...

a buyer calling it incorrectly vs a brand naming it incorrectly 🤐
