In the past 4 or so years, I've been witnessing really abnormal weather in the area where I live. For example, in my entire life living in the area where I live, I've rarely seen any thunder storms. And if there were, there's only a few short cases of lightning. But a few years ago, we had this thunderstorm where lightning hit the ground thousands of times. Oh my, yes these types of storms are very dangerous.
We get them here quite a bit. They build structures for 150mph here, roof is internally strapped to the main structure, etc. Best wishes for a fast recovery.
