Lemania 5100.

A sturdy, robust, cheap chronograph made to some German military specification where the center minute counter is the essential. There is a red line here between Orfina Porsche Design to Tutima, Sinn, Heuer, Fortis and even Omega A very interesting part in the history of (modern) military chronograph, made from stamped parts built to be serviced and to take a beating. When sophistication, Geneva stripes, see-through case back and

The movement today lives on as ETA C.01 - however without the center minute counter.

The military customers complained when production was halted around 2004 - but as Lemania had become part of Swatch group (so Omega could claim that the Speedmaster chronograph had an “in-house” movement as caliber 861 (actually constructed by Albert Piguet as Lemania caliber 1873) there was no room for the sturdy 5100 anywhere in the Swatch Group Setup.

It's got the essentials. Date, day and chrono. What is not to like. And I may ask its size and thickness. Geross. 😎

43mm x 14.5mm

The lugsless design helps it feel a little smaller than 43, but thickness wise its definitely a nice slab of sandblasted steel.

Great watch. Classic tool watch we don't see often.

Similar style, different movement. Recessed crown and rubber buttons to match strap. Extended crown. Brandon, does yours have a similar crown arrangement? Mike ...

The B&R I hope to be re-issued. I like the recessed crown and integrated push button.

Back in 2004, the B&R catalogue was the first watch catalogue I got, and since then my passion for mechanical watch began.

That is too cool, Mike!

I'm afraid mine is just a regular crown ...

Also a true classic, but with ETA 7750 (present everywhere).

Thanks. Correct, when I came up with my username I just started in getting into watches. I wasn't fully aware of Lemania's history as the base caliber of much more prestigious brands like Patek, early Roger Dubuis and so many more. Considering the Lemania...
