Which watch
could I part with, if I had to either trade for one I would madly fall in love
with or simply because of financial constraints. Unlike you Mr Baron, I
couldn't possibly cut my collection to only twelve watches! Blimey, how could
someone live with so few watches
No,
of course I am just kidding. The reason is that I do not possess 12
watches. At the moment I do have 10 and by the end of the year I should get my
11th.
Beside my first "serious" watch which has a "sentimental" value, the others have been acquired only because I loved them, each for different specific reasons but all for their beauty, in my eyes. So, let see out of the ten watches I have, which would make the list of the final five, shall we?
The 10 in the order of purchase, the first been the last acquired:

The Audemars Piguet RO 5402ST will definitely be the number 1 on the list of 5 as it is “sentimental”, I love it and it is because of her that all this “crazy” hobby started for me.
Well, this was the easy bit. Now comes the hard, very hard task of choosing the 4 remaining ones or the 5 going on a voyage. I cannot see myself separating from the Vacheron Constantin Historique Chronograph but on the other hand it is quite “easily” replaceable, I could find one in say, a month. In the case of the Daytona one week would suffice, the Datograph would be much harder especially the original version and in platinum idem for the GP Chronograph a Ratrappante Foudroyante in platinum. It would of course not be the case for the Mondaine which could be replaced the next dayJ But the Tissot Chronograph and in this state? Hardly. The Septantieme, very, very difficult, the Master Perpetual with grey dial I haven’t see so many at all but it could nevertheless be replaced by either the same version or the new white gold which I find lovely. But the JLC Geographique is a different kettle of fish and it is absolutely unique, as it is the only one in existence with the town of Ketchum showing in blue on the city disk. So, if I had to break my heart by letting go some of my beloved watches, the five remaining would be:
Audemars Piguet RO 5402ST
Tissot Chronograph (33.3)
Lange & Sohne Datograph
JLC Geographique
JLC Septantieme
My heart would bleed for the GP though and my wife would kill me for letting go of the Historique Chronographe so, this hypothetical scenario shall not arise
Tough, tough decision indeed.
Cheers
