Hey Caz, I LOVE that titanium GST! ...
... I was always a fan of the complete GST series, and still firmly believe that it was a wrong decision by IWC to discontinue it. For me, the sportive titanium GST perpetual always was the king of the whole series, ahead of the steel and gold models.

Interesting chronometer! I assume the second hand is not original ...
... since on a marine chronometer, a second hand ending so far short of the register, could lead to navigational errors. Regards, Marcus

. . . correct. Our Austrian watchmaker - who bears a resemblance to you, btw! - made the same observation. Perhaps Snak will have an opportunity to take a few images of the chronometer in its disassembled state for us.

... winding hand had indeed been replaced, having been done before my god friend purchased this in the late 60s. Given the historical nature of this fine timepiece, I would like to eventually find a correct hand for it.
