...with the LLD is burning brighter than ever. There's something about that lacquer dial and the color used for the indices that just hits my sweet spot! Daos

...that at a "perpetual (calendar)" event you'd sport a time only. I have always liked the look of the LLD too, and always get a little tug when I see one on sales forums. Having only seen it once in person I wondered if I'd get bored with it for some rea... 

It was a very fun evening. I wish you could've joined in! The weather here is gorgeous, and we could go vintage hunting with Art, Snak and others! If only the Star Trek transporter beam would get invented already Daos!

...watches with dates generally, so calendar watches -- even the vaunted perpetual calendar, are not that interesting to me in terms of potential additions to my watchbox. There are very few perpetuals that catch my eye. My number one choice, if pocketboo...

...but Cazalea's new Seiko has a very cool dial. It's a repeating pattern that is reminiscent of carbon fiber, but is made up of the original Seiko quartz logo, I think. Cheers, Daos

... I was always a fan of the complete GST series, and still firmly believe that it was a wrong decision by IWC to discontinue it. For me, the sportive titanium GST perpetual always was the king of the whole series, ahead of the steel and gold models. Reg...

. . . was your wrist sporting my Karree perpetual! Mitch tried it on, too . . . must've lost track of who was wearing what in the last few days. As for instantaneous perpetuals, the only ones I know of right off the top of my head are the Roth of yesterye...

. . . correct. Our Austrian watchmaker - who bears a resemblance to you, btw! - made the same observation. Perhaps Snak will have an opportunity to take a few images of the chronometer in its disassembled state for us.

... winding hand had indeed been replaced, having been done before my god friend purchased this in the late 60s. Given the historical nature of this fine timepiece, I would like to eventually find a correct hand for it.

which is very nice as we don't have the opportunity to see them in shops, for most of them. And it seems to have been a great friendship event, thanks for sharing this Art ! Best, Mark
