If i may ask, which # did you have. My NYC friend's wife had one she also got direct from Harrods too, yet forget which # she had. Of the above, the Rolex as it is different enough that i have yet to see someone else wear one. Admired the Rerverso and ALMOST got one a few times, but something keeps holding me back. Maybe too heavy a head? Have seen so many Aqua / Naut / Cala / AP that they seem boring. BORING!!!!!!!
If you're thinking Patek, forget production models and consider hand crafted enamel. Patek movements are (sorta of) secondary nowadays anyway, so no real value there unless a very rare dial.
Personally, of the three the Rolex but forget everything above. Seems we are kindred spirits and so how about a Roger Dubuis where only 27 were made? A movement finishing/polishing EASILY equal to anything Patek of the same complication too. Georgous rose gold, the dial, the hands.... just lovely when you see it in person. BTW the pic does it NO justice as the Arabic numbers are equally polished like the hands rose gold, yet look gray in the pic. And look at that shaped crystal. Mmmmmm yum!

and you are right - there are endless possibilities but based on my preferences and budget, there are just three!
I am not a fan of Rolex too (recent models) but this new daytona is very elegant and maybe the strap changes completely is look and our perception of it.
However my opinion is always the same: Rolex is too inflated so look around... and you will find for example the wonderful reverso you posted. It, for me, very much wearable and the moon phase gives a touch of romanticism to the watch. Go for it! Best.

one of Patek's unsung greats if you ask me. I should change my handle to PP5078G I too am a great fan of all things Patek.
Of the three would choose the Daytona.
The Patek is lovely but too small-for me. So, isn't the Daytona out of your comfort zone? Having met you I believe you can wear bigger watches than you choose, but why are you considering "going big" with a Rolex, and not a Patek?

Sorry to hear about your Lange experience. The JLC is the smaller WG one from 15 years ago. It doesn't really wrap around the wrist, naturally depending on size, as well as say the Calatravas. But the Rolex would be worse!!! Best, Horo

Rarer Patek and the Rolex
There's a far more rare Patek with 215, a special Harrords in RG that is so under the radar few know about it. Only 35 made, enjoyed mine for years. Seems little love for that Everose Daytona on leather. Have it here and a few have mistaken it for a Patek...
