Good problem to have!! This price range is my sweet spot.....

The Railmaster is an awesome option and could be had I am sure for less than $6500... my AD has one currently in Detroit Metro area and is offering a heavy discount closer to 5K...
The Aqua Terra Blue Dial or Silver dial is also an extremely versatile watch with 150M water resistance along with the anti-magnetic movement...retails at $5500 on bracelet I believe... and of course there is the Speedmaster Pro with Hesalite or sapphire as Both options are under $6500...
This is right at the JLC entry level I believe their new Master Control retails at $6700.... Not sure on the Blancpains but dont think there is much in this price range except for on the grey/used market....the Polaris Automatic on strap is $6600 retail...
I love JLC and Omega but at this price point I feel the Omega has more versatility and great value...
Also recently just got a Grand Seiko and there are quite a few options at this price point and the finishing and attention to detail is amazing at this price point...
Good luck and please show us what you decide to go with!

General question

 By: Jurry : June 1st, 2020-12:08
I’ve got about $6,500 in mall vouchers that I must spent before June 15 or they’ll expire. Any suggestions? Rolex steel datejust for my wife? Omega Railmaster Any JLC in that bracket Any Blancpain?

If you can find one of these now . . .

. . . you'll have change left over. ...

Great choice!

Perfect dimensions, very comfortable to wear and no date!

I can still get this locally in Metro Detroit at an awesome discount... if I hadn't purchased 2 watches in the last 3 months..

i would have pulled the trigger as my AD is offering it at a 25% discount... -D-

That confirms my sense of the market now . . .

. . . and frankly, at three quarters of the list price, an anniversary Rail is a bargain.

I'd prefer an aqua terra over the rail master

The green dial version looks pretty good. Would be worth looking at grand seiko as well.

Thanks

But I find the railmaster somehow bit more special

The list wasn’t comprehensive or limited but examples

Grand Seiko definitely worth considering

Here is a variety of Grand Seiko models around your price range

Interesting dials, variety of functionality, but of course I don't know your preferences. I think this list gives you a good idea of Grand Seiko options, though: SBGA211, SBGK005, SBGH269, SBGH271, SBGM221, SBGJ217, SBGH263, SBGY003, SBGA229

Lol me too. [nt]

Mall vouchers

 By: Jurry : June 2nd, 2020-00:26
Last year for every dollar spent there was a cash back by mall vouchers. These vouchers can be spent at any store in the mall. Which includes virtually all wat h brands

What brands are possible? [nt]

A Rolex steel datejust for sure!

 By: sham1 : June 1st, 2020-22:49
I bought mine last year and I loved it then and surprisingly I love it even more now. I say surprisingly because I am not a Rolex fan as I am partial to dress watches but the datejust especially with a Jubilee bracelet is a gem!

A meal?

 By: toxly347 : June 2nd, 2020-01:21
Obviously a really good meal. Maybe even with some wine. Otherwise AirKing would be a great choice.

For wife, i'd definitely choose datejust. Perfect balance of sporty and bling

 By: hoseachandra : June 2nd, 2020-05:20
For yourself, I think the Railmaster or Reverso is great choice. Or the new IWC Portuguese 40mm ( its USD 7250, but I assume you could get 10% discount). Oh but it will not available before June 15th sadly. Grand seiko GMT also good. Or the new Speedmaste...

We already have the Explorer 1

I have now also seen the latest panerai Meditarano Edition boutique only. That’s a cool looking alternative as well

In blue or in red (preferred.) You could "share" the watch with the wife. Chk
