Unofficial weekend topic: What is the heaviest collector-grade watch that you've ever seen, owned, or know about?

 By: DouglasM : February 4th, 2022-19:52
In any category, stainless steel, gold, platinum, or anything else, what is the heaviest watches (in grams) you've ever encountered? Curious to see if there is a beast living among our hobby that most aren't aware of. Look forward to hearing your comments...

Thanks for kicking off a very interesting topic, I’d love to see if we have an unexpected or clear winner here! A challenge is of course that people don’t normally weigh their watches…but let’s see what our friends say!👍

Here are quite possibly my two heaviest watches, hardly record breakers in absolute terms though: [Patek 5131 in platinum (currently in Italy but I remember we are slightly over 240 grams with it)] [Rolex Deepsea (also in Italy and I’d be curious if someo...

240g does not surprise me for your 5131P.

I do remember weighing my Omega Speedmaster Pro (sapphire version), with the bracelet (minus a few links), and it weighed the same as the 5960P with its strap (145g approx). ...

They were.. until I eventually sold them. ☹️

The Deepsea was too large for my wrist, and still upset over not buying the Hulk at the time (which my AD was trying to convince me suited my wrist more...🙈). The IWC hardly ever got any wrist time (after the second month), and the Reverso was too conspic...

It was, thank you!

Don’t know SDDS; only SD43 at 188g

 By: Jp75 : February 5th, 2022-11:43
Took the scale and was just measuring this morning based on this thread. My SD43 weights in at 188g Ps: got it recently and must say that for me the secret (with regard to heavier watch) is to have a bracelet perfectly sized. With moderately tight bracele...

oupps, Indeed missed that post in the thread; only 17g more for the SDDS, might be even less when adjusting (mentally) for the missing links: since my wrist isn’t sooo large and I had to remove a couple Have a good weekend you all! Cheers, J.

For weight….

The Rolex Daytona platinum with the platinum strap weighed a ton on the wrist. Loved the watch and the dial color, but the watch was uncomfortably heavy.

Wow!!! Did not think that would be this heavy!

 By: KCLQMULKU : February 4th, 2022-21:00
But then again it is gold, and pretty large. 😆👍

Wow 238.7g

I would have to say the heaviest watch I’ve ever encountered has to be the 40mm platinum day date. But this one is a beast, and rare. Platinum Master Compressor Memovox ...
