Thanks to everyone for your responses. All of the issues mentioned are helpful. I purchased the STD because it is programmable. I do get a little concerned about the wear and tear on the watches but consider the trade-off worthwhile for my perpetuals. Happy New Year to all.

Classic. I am not, sure but that may have sold me on the EWC as a great and robust watch, while influencing me to stay away from watch winders. Best, respo

It's a windmill type that rotates the watches on two axes. A winder that rotates only one axis keeps the watch in the same plane at all times, concentrating the wear on the points on which the pivots rest in that plane. Through experimentation I have beco...

Orbita Sparta 2 Delux. But I don't keep it on all the time. I have only two automatic watches and one of them has power reserve meter. I stop both of the winders before one of them hits "full". Then a day and a half or two later when PR meter is in the re...

I have had real good success with Orbita....I have a 6 programable watch winder that I bought a few years ago and have had real good success with it. I liked it so much that I bought my wife two Orbital Sparta winders for two of her watches for Christmas!...
