But perhaps Bernard can give you some advice?

Ps. I don't use winders, Ron, but hopefully you will get more helpful advice than I can give!

Classic. I am not, sure but that may have sold me on the EWC as a great and robust watch, while influencing me to stay away from watch winders.
Best,
respo
winders from quite a few brands and one thing I do notice, is that you don't want to go cheap, at least not too cheap. I used to think it's really just a slow winding motors w/ a few electronics circuit boards, while it's mostly true, the quality of these components makes a huge difference.
On the top of my list I like Orbita & Scatola del Tempo. They are very reliable and more importantly, quiet. In my experience, the noisiness of your motors pretty much would give you a good idea of how long your winder would last.
I had back luck w/ winders from 'Official time' and Rapport. My experience w/ Underwood is average.
What I found really interesting is that one would imagine a vertically placed rotors such as Scatola & Underwood would wind most of the watch ok. My experience is that some of my pieces would just REFUSE to wind on these winder while they're perfectly happy on the rotors placed at an angle such as Orbita.
Are you having problem programming your SDT winder?
I have had real good success with Orbita....I have a 6 programable watch winder that I bought a few years ago and have had real good success with it. I liked it so much that I bought my wife two Orbital Sparta winders for two of her watches for Christmas!
Of course there offices are but a 3 hour drive from my house!
Looks beautiful, too.
