So, nine guys with a little spare time on their hands . . .

 By: Dr No : October 21st, 2013-00:00
. . . met up Saturday at the regular meeting place of the under-the-radar gang for an impromptu get-together. We usually never share our experiences because we cherish our privacy. This time, though, there were so many outstanding examples on hand that we...

Mr B . . .

 By: Dr No : October 21st, 2013-00:16
. . . wore the Omega Planet Ocean he's owned for many years. Mr B is one of the original members of the u-t-r gang. I was glad he was able to join us this time as he's missed the last few gatherings. ...

Mr C . . .

. . . came with two of the latest pieces in his collection, a recently acquired Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra . . . . . . which is his everyday watch, and his latest acquisition, a Vulcain alarm. Mr C has been a regular attendee of our gatherings for a few y...

Mr D . . .

 By: Dr No : October 21st, 2013-00:40
. . . could only visit for half an hour or so as he had other commitments, but came with a most intriguing watch . . . . . . the Habring 2 Foudroyante. Always a thrill to see the second hand spin! ...

Mr E . . .

 By: Dr No : October 21st, 2013-00:49
. . . brought his Longines triple-date moonphase chronograph. 24 hour indicator, too. E is not only a founding father of the gang, but also a close friend. He usually wears Omegas, so this was a bit of a departure for him. ...

Mr F . . .

 By: Dr No : October 21st, 2013-00:53
. . . brought just one watch, as usual. Grand Seiko SBGW047 - not exactly a common sight in So Cal. ...

Grand Seiko SBGW047 - becoming a more common sight in So Cal.

 By: rovermark : October 21st, 2013-21:45
I have been thinking about adding a Grand Seiko to my collection since a trip to Tokyo in 2009 but just hadn't acted on it. It just wasn't a big priority...until Saturday. I had seen pictures of the 44GS reissue when it was announced earlier in the year, ...

Three so far. Perhaps Daos . . .

 By: Dr No : October 24th, 2013-10:44
. . . will join us; she's been hankering for a GS, too.

Mr G . . .

 By: Dr No : October 21st, 2013-01:02

Mr H . . .

 By: Dr No : October 21st, 2013-01:14
. . . brought two recent acquisitions. I've seen the Prescher before, but not the Daniels, which happens to be the very last watch George Daniels had a hand in making. ...

Whaow !

 By: Origami : October 21st, 2013-07:50
That's very impressive. Mr. H is a man of great taste. Those are 2 incredible watches. I think it's the first time I see this watch by Daniels in picture. Do you have any information that you could share ? Thanks

Origami, Mr. H.'s collection...

... is as impressive as the man himself. He is a very gracious person who loves to share his amazing pieces with those who appreciate the highest levels of haute horology. I suspect he will re-regale us with the story of 'The Daniels'. It is one of those ...

Mr I . . .

 By: Dr No : October 21st, 2013-01:47
. . . brought four of his most recent arrivals. First, the JLC MUT Jubilee . . . . . . second, a vintage cushion-case Memovox . . . . . . and a new one for me, the FPJ Octa Sport. It takes an awful lot to get my attention, but the lightness of this one is...

Congrats to Mr. I

He finally found that JLC MR! Congrats. The Journe is a surprise. Congrats to Mr. I!

Mr J . . .

 By: Dr No : October 21st, 2013-02:12
. . . brought three Omegas that induced instant lust on my part. 1945 RAF . . . . . . 1953 RAF . . . . . . and 1968 SM300. All I can say is: Wow. ...

Hey Doctor, I was wondering when...

 By: elliot55 : October 21st, 2013-07:53
... I was going to see this superb report. A very healthy stable of watches exhibited by an excellent group of people. Let's do it again soon. - Scott

It was a sudden inspiration . . .

 By: Dr No : October 21st, 2013-08:51
. . . late last night, Scott. We've never posted before, but the sheer breadth and quality was such that I couldn't resist. The nom de plumes were probably unnecessary, but I didn't know if anyone would object to being identified. Most of the participants...

Wonderful and diverse

What a great way to spend Saturday morning. The Military SM300 is fantastic. Did you agree what Aliases you would have - <iframe width="560" height="315" src="/" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

As for the RAF Seamaster 300, what can I say? A Watch I always loved, which has to be part of a military watches collection. Very nice! Best, Nicolas

It's funny, given my usual preference . . .

 By: Dr No : October 21st, 2013-13:41
. . . for black, but the one I'm hoping to land would be a '56 white dial re-cased version, with no lume and blued hands. The Longines analog would be fine, too.

There was a call (at least to me) for issued Omegas....

 By: glickman : October 21st, 2013-15:34
Point of clarification: the Omega W.W.W. (aka, "Mark X") was delivered to the MoD in 1945, but not for the RAF. Rather, it was designed as a general service watch for the British Army. It was nice to g-t-g, as always!

ah that SM300!
