A special edition GO PML, IWC 3714, AP Diver, Pam, etc. would be great! [nt]

If you could design a PuristS Tenth Anniversary Watch ...

 By: AndrewD : November 6th, 2010-18:14
Hi All, I am waiting at another airport lounge and idle thoughts of course turn to horology. I see that interest in the Tenth Anniversary pieces is hotting up. If you could design your perfect anniversary watch, what would it be? Which Manufacture, compli...

GORGEOUS Watch and Movement ... Cheers

I have 3 ideals

 By: dxboon : November 6th, 2010-20:13
JLC -- stainless steel Geophysic reissue; GO -- stainless steel, manual wind, Senator Sixties with silver dial and gold numerals/indices; AP -- stainless steel and tantalum RO 15300 with light gray dial and blued second hand. Cheers, Daos

Daos, you're always so vague with your ideals! ;-) [nt]

...what hope do you have that the things you want will come to pass? Cheers, Daos

Thanks, MTF! :-)

 By: dxboon : November 7th, 2010-09:28
Whatever comes to pass, all the watches to be offered will be special and imbued with the spirit of 10 years of friendship, generosity of spirit, and courteous sharing of knowledge that is the hallmark of PuristS and PPro. Hopefully, all here remember tha...

Reminded me of SteveG's Peseux COSC watch...

 By: KC74 : November 6th, 2010-21:39
...when i read AndrewD's post. It exemplified a unique and rather pure timepiece. What more if it is a marine chronometer. Moreover, when it is hand-wound, to me, that allows any Purists to be more "connected" to the wristwatch. I have always liked enamel...

a pam 36 re issuing would be great

 By: aldossari_faisal : November 6th, 2010-21:56
with triitume dial please . or a AP ROO dark grey " not black " with grey gold dial . Faisal

Disagree on the 36, Faisal.

 By: amanico : November 6th, 2010-23:57
In my opinion, a Myth is a myth, and this watch, in a certain way is. Because it was the first and the only one to get the magic combo: a watch released under the kind permission of the Marina Militare Italiana, a brown dial, tritium indexes, and a titani...

So that means

 By: grigo : November 7th, 2010-00:01
you wouldn't necessairly object to thr re-edition if it was idential to the myth? Best regards, George

I see you coming, my friend...

 By: amanico : November 7th, 2010-00:10
They did it, with the 26, the 28, and I don't feel the Pam 36 is an oridinary watch. What I don't like is when you play on the LE concept, I mean that the 36 was a LE released some 11 years ago. It is too soon for a Tribute, and even if ithere may be a tr...

In any event

 By: grigo : November 7th, 2010-00:23
I figure that any watch produced for the purpose of celebrating the 10 candles of the PuristPro site would be something special and not necessairly a tribute to one of Panerai's icones. I figure that a limited edition would be open to a more general publi...

.... a good point of view

 By: aldossari_faisal : November 7th, 2010-01:26
maybe something which floats in that circle not a pam 36 clone... however i believe panerai will have trouble using MM from now on... at least thats what i believe after the recent case of 339... but wouldnt that be the case with legend diver and polaris?...

I wouldn't compare the Pam 36 with the Polaris and the Longines Diver.

 By: amanico : November 7th, 2010-02:56
Because the Polaris is a Vintage model, which existed, as well as the Longines, while the Pam 36 is a modern re interpretation of a 6152-1. So they are not boxing in the same category. Therefore, the Pam 36 was a LE, while the original Polaris wasn't. For...

i Tip my hat Nicolas

Why A Re-issue? Why not a Purist.com original 10th anniversary

 By: DonWishnow ( Wish) : November 7th, 2010-00:24
new design, based on a simple, mechanical, such as a Hamilton 980? I will be in Lancaster next week ( wife loves Outlet Shopping) and will ask around if someone would care to build one.

An original commemorative watch

 By: grigo : November 7th, 2010-00:41
I fully agree with you a 10th anniversary commemorative watch would be better. Something made expressly for the PuristPro community. Best regards, George

I have 3 options: Longines, Blancpain and Panerai

 By: E.J. : November 7th, 2010-01:32
The Longines Legend Diver became as a friendly Purist watch, and I think it would be perfect to made a special version for us. In the same way, the Fifty Fathoms is a watch with lot of fans here (me included). I feel these watches are a bit Purists watche...

Definitely start saving, Emilio

You won't be the only one. Let's hope all these Purists not buying watches doesn't cripple the industry in the meantime. A

A couple of names on my wishlist...

 By: sidneyc : November 7th, 2010-01:44
PSM.. simple Piccadilly with old movement.. either enamel or frosted dial... GO.. either a customised stainless steel Senator Meissen, or stainless steel Senator Chronometre, or simple stainless steel with manual wind (Senator Sixties)

I fear it is a too wide topic, Andrew ...

 By: amanico : November 7th, 2010-01:52
What is the budget for that watch? I feel the budget will be the most important criteria. For example, I would love to see a Purist Reverso: enamel dial, superb finish of the movement, white metal case, but how much would it cost? I fear it will be way to...

Some illustrations.

 By: amanico : November 7th, 2010-01:12
1/ Panerai: 47 mm base with the 1950 case. Or Mare Nostrum 47 or 45 mm. I don't see Panerai doing a short batch of let's say ... Even 50 watches of these. Or they will charge it so high that it will discourage everybody except the flippers. 2/ JLC: Revers...

Great illustration, but I have to say...

 By: E.J. : November 7th, 2010-06:20
that we´ll never allow you to make the proto dial of this Pam 47 mm base with 1950 case... We don´t want a Mamma Mia dial, hermano Very best, Nico Emilio

One I haven't thought about much lately...

 By: SRG : November 7th, 2010-10:20
I had an AP Starwheel in SS with blue dial in Millenary case. In fact, Thomas arranged the purchase. Since I had never seen one live, I didn't know the print would be too small for me to read. Arrrggghh! I ended up selling it for "almost nothing" compared...

+1 on the AP Starwheel

I have been waiting for a while for AP to resurrect the Starwheel, and wouldn't this be a wonderful occasion for that? Great suggestion. Andrew

Patek , Panerai or Rolex

 By: Bruno.M1 : November 7th, 2010-01:15
I mean, these are probably my 3 favorite brands Rolex would be pretty cool but I think it won't be possible. AFAIK Rolex does not make any special editions and I'm not interested in aftermaket inscriptions or modifications. Panerai, Max 3 hands, NO date a...

I think a special edition of the Longines diver would be great for all purist.

 By: patrickmaniac : November 7th, 2010-01:21
Perhaps with red PPRO on the dial? It would be great if the piece could be made available (in terms of $) to all purists. We should not exclude those due to hugh prices. My humble 2 cents. cheers PAt

I'm with you and Emilio Patrick ...

 By: bimbeano : November 7th, 2010-03:16
i suppose we can't consider a Swatch ??? A Legend Diver would be great but i fear there will be a date as they don't produce the non-date version anymore .... . Filip

There is nothing impossible for a Purist, Hermano!:)

 By: E.J. : November 7th, 2010-06:18
If we want it, we can make a Longines LD without date, my dear Ze Bim! Un fuerte abrazo, mi querido amigo. emilio

Longines: Idrografico R. Marina or Daos' Geophysic thought

 By: Nomer : November 7th, 2010-01:27
This Longines is very special and so few were issued that a re-issue of a similar style might be very. I also really like Daos' idea of a JLC Geophysic reissue

I have trio in mind 1. JLC - ATMOS PPro edition by Marc Newson 2. GP - ww.tc with cities where PPro Members comes from highlighted in red 3. Now I can say already notorious Panerai (we see lot of new log-ins just because of potential Panerai PPro 10th Ann...

i'm with you on this Andreas. yours is an excellent idea

 By: G99 : November 7th, 2010-12:55
most of the suggestions i've read so far have verged on elitist and unaffordable by some of the active members. the idea is to bring everyone together, not seperate us by way of income and financial freedom. i like the Hamilton movement idea and lots of c...

a vacheron constantin chronometre royale

 By: mr : November 7th, 2010-10:51
in platinum with a hidden tourbillon, and 1,7,8 in red (instead of the 12) in a "hunter type case back", with a picture of the PPro founder engraved on it. hows that for expensive and un-attainable

As others have said cost would be important....

 By: Andy : November 7th, 2010-11:08
so it would either have to be a very small run of say 50 pieces for the lucky wealthy but also something much cheaper and fun in the Swatch price range that almost everybody would get just to say it was from the Purists as a sign of friendship around the ...

sorry Andy, but i disagree slightly

 By: G99 : November 7th, 2010-13:01
the idea is to bring us all together as one group of friends so having different watches, one for the rich and one for the poor is the exact opposite of the spirit of the forum. having a model that looks the same but with different levels of finish as sug...

Dear Graham, if only things were that easy though

 By: AnthonyTsai : November 7th, 2010-20:38
With our PuristS 10th edition watches, the PPro exec team does not get sole control on which watches get made - it is all up to the brands to approve. So we are limited in what watches we really want to have. What you've written is why the 1st PuristSPro ...

Hey G....as I hope you know that's not quite what I meant....

 By: Andy : November 8th, 2010-08:53
what I meant is that it would be good to have a range of pieces which could cover all price bases for all Purists. I would love to have a piece to remember the friendship from this site by, but it would have to be affordable to me. I didn't mean one for t...

i would like to see a B-Uhr type pilot/observors watch from a small manufacture

 By: G99 : November 7th, 2010-12:25
i'd like the dial to have the hour inner track/minute outer track like the Laco/lange observors watch and a handwind movement. obviously not the 55mm size, but 40-44mm. it would be appropriate as we are all 'observors' of this wonderful forum in one way o...

I would like to see...

 By: foversta : November 7th, 2010-13:30
a simple watch (2 or 3 hands) with a beautiful handwind movement. I like the concept of this wish-list ! Fr.Xavier

I would love to see . . .

 By: Dr No : November 8th, 2010-17:45
. . . a basic steel Villeret from Montblanc equipped with the cal 13 - 18 movement currently fitted to the Retour-à-Zéro. My ideal would be a B-uhr design of reasonable size and, hopefully, cost.

Great idea -- steel Villeret...

 By: dxboon : November 8th, 2010-20:07
...but hopefully the dial would not be busy with extraneous text (which sometimes happens on the Montblanc pieces; and others to be fair). How about a steel version of the Vintage Chronograph with white enamel dial and snail tachy? *shiver* Cheers, Daos

For us poor folks

 By: takashi78 : November 9th, 2010-00:08
Please something "affordable" under usd2k or usd3k max. I like the idea of the LLD or maybe have the Habrings make something?

We'll have to see what is released when the time is right.

 By: dxboon : November 9th, 2010-07:04
I have no insider knowledge on the pieces, but I do believe management will offer a range of watches. Hopefully, everyone will have a model they like and can afford. Cheers, Daos

Well, any steel Villeret would be fine, but the cal 13 - 18 movement . . .

 By: Dr No : November 10th, 2010-10:18
. . . is a natural fit for the B-uhr of Graham's dreams in terms of horological relevance, as the ability to set time accurately at a moment's notice would be a valued asset for a military pilot, particularly a group of pilots.

For me it would be relatively simple...

 By: ticktocktimesup : November 9th, 2010-00:43
... as I prefer things simple. So no fancy modifications for me, just the following: - Panerai: a reissue of the PAM 21 in Platinum. Not necessarily a Rolex movement inside, but it would be very nice to have an extraordinarily finished and decorated movem...
