resale value is too terrible
and this is probably the main reason why you don't see them more often. To be honest I like quite a few of their watches. I don't need to earn something when selling a watch but loosing 75% isn't acceptable either. Friend of mine is selling a ww.tc ... list is I believe 35K (red gold). it's for sale for 9 K during almost 2 years and nobody even asks for it. There is totally no interest in these wachtes on the secondhand market. A pitty but this is a big reason why you barely see them. I know 2 AD in my country that are selling them now with 40 till 70% discount simply because they do not move.
Is it my imagination or is GP mostly ignored in the US?

I'm assuming that the poor resale value is correlated with poor brand awareness. And since resale value is poor, nobody is interested in the brand and that leads to lack of dealers and, therefore, poor brand awareness. Perhaps if the company invests in be...
Same can be said about Zenith and some other brands
I think G-P is not an exception here ....we know who are resale kings and who are not but anyway we tend not to soeak about price tags here but passion and other nice things connected to watches

Last time I was in Vegas, I stopped in at Horlogio and got to see a nice selection of Laureatos. Quite beautiful! My own sense is that, in the U.S., folks remain largely ignorant about the brand. I think that the new Laureatos have started to change that ...

Freudian slip, perhaps, but I think the same argument holds for that brand - relatively little brand awareness, poor resale value and deemed a 'Lange wannabe'. One of my favorite brands, however, and I enjoy my Senator Observer immensely.

There is certainly a trend on watch forums to regard the Laureato as a Royal Oak wannabe, and my sense is that plenty of people are influenced by this kind of group think.
