Thank you my friend. I am dabbling in good Tuscans between Bordeaux and Burgundy. To me…

The 2004 Ornellaia bested the 2001, but it is a very fine wine. It changes from vintage to vintage, but between Solaia, Sassicaia and Ornellaia I think they compete with Bordeaux’ super seconds plus Palmer. And on its finest years can hold fort with a first growth. Mind you on its finest years. No offence I am very biased to Bordeaux. Some children were raised on milk. I was raised on Bordeaux

Dinner: 1. Pasta with mushrooms and truffles 2. Cold seafood: an oyster, raw scallops, cooked but chilled lobster and a giant shrimp 3. 14 ounce ribeye After 5 hours decanted and several sips I can now properly review this wine. Nose of meadow fields, wet...
Great wine with great food...

....a perfect match! An appropriate decant time for a magnum ,especially when it enables the wine to show its development. I am a fan of Ornellaia ,which is sometimes underrated, but comes top with elegance. What an enjoyable repast you have!
