Chateau Hosanna does not have a long history in the Pomerol appellation. Until quite recently, the vineyard was used to produce wines previously sold under the name of Chateau Certan Giraud. In the estate’s formative years, the vines were part of the vast de May estate which gave birth to Vieux Chateau CertanCertan de May, and the aforementioned Chateau Certan Giraud and other properties.

Jumping ahead to the modern era, following the frost of 1956, the estate became the property of the Giraud family who renamed the winery, Chateau Giraud. The Giraud family later sold the vineyards in two separate transactions in 1999.
