F.P. Journe

I'm not sure what FPJ comes with. Looks like steel to me.

Patek Philippe doesn't spend excess money on springbars if they don't have to. I'm sure Patek Philippe wouldn't incur that expenditure multiplied by two spring bars per watch multiplied by the tens of thousands of watches they sell (every year) on straps equipped with gold spring bars.
It's likely that FPJ can control the spring bars that they put on their own watches. But I can't assume A COLLECTED MAN would have sourced the springbars from the same source as FPJ. Is there a way you can remove the spring bars from the strap supplied by A COLLECTED MAN and will the FPJ spring bars that came with the watch fit?
We really need a technical answer from FPJ. What kind of spring bars does FPJ use, what kind of testing has FPJ done, and why did FPJ choose the spring bars that they chose. Maybe FPJ chose steel spring bars but a softer steel to have less wear on the gold/platinum case. Maybe FPJ have springbars with special coatings on the tip, like a teflon coating. We need to get a good answer from FPJ.
