Update & Apologies from ACM
Mar 20, 2020,03:26 AM
Dear members of the Purist community,
Having recently found this thread, I just wanted to take the opportunity to acknowledge the concerns expressed regarding the spring-bars specific to our 20 x 19 curved straps (commonly sized for FP Journe watches).
We endeavoured for a long time to improve their reliability (to achieve the specific shape needed for watches like the Chronomètre à Résonance). Never the less, as these were hand-finished, there was a degree of variation in production, that has sadly translated into inconsistencies of quality. I apologise for this. As soon as the issue was drawn to our attention, we removed the straps from sale.
For over a year we’ve been searching for the highest possible standard of machine-curved, quick-change spring-bar. After going through many samples, we finally identified these a few months ago and received our first delivery this week. Following extensive testing, we’re much happier with the quality of our new spring-bars and are hopeful that these will eliminate future concerns.
We will shortly write to all clients who have purchased our 20 x 19mm curved straps and offer to do one of the following:
1 - Send a complimentary pair of our new replacement spring-bars, for every strap purchased, to those who are comfortable replacing the existing spring-bars themselves, or would like a spare pair.
2- Reimburse the postage for those who wish to send their strap back to us, for us to change the spring-bars for them and return them to them, free of charge.
3 - Return their straps for a full refund.
We’re instructing our strap manufacturer to replace all the remaining pieces that we have in stock, with the new spring-bars and as soon as these have been received back by us, they will once again be available for purchase.
Thank you for bearing with us.
With best regards,
Silas Walton
