Rolex

Something a little different

Hi all

In honor of the New forum.  I am wearing a simple Rolex Oyster prep in steel.

This one is from 1964 with a case ref 1018.   You do not see too many of these out there today.   First of it was not a big seller as most wanted an OP Date .   Secondly I think people who wanted to "build" a Explorer 1016 would erase part of the 8 and turn it into a 6.                           The case is "full size" like the 1016 Explorer.  But the 1016 is actually thicker !  ( I will post a comparison shot when I get my camera back from my wife!).

But for today on my wrist is my simple 1018 Oyster prep so call it a Jumbo Oyster.   All original to the best of my knowledge   I think the buckle is from an earlier age.

The funny thing is when i bought the watch and wore it for a week before I realized the dial has an underline !

Good Hunting
