Checking my watch winder - which one you like?
When I came home last night, I placed 5131G to the watch winder in between two Brothers. All three share the blue dial, white metal and 240 movement. However, one is made of steel, one from white gold and one of platinum.
Do you have a favorite?
I love my 3712 because for me it's the original complicated Nautilus. This watch still has the two-part case just like Gerald Genta designed it. Furthermore, I like the print on the dial more than the one of the newer version; 5712.
For me 3712 represents Casual Elegance.
I have mixed feelings about 5140. In my opinion the bezel is nicer than in the older version 3940 but the dial is messy. However, after a short consideration that lasted only three years, I concluded that the blue dial and platinum case is compensating what 5140 lost in the dial design. So now 5140P has a permanent seat in my watch winder.
I love the colors, feeling and the movement of this watch. For me it represents Perpetual Elegance.
The watch in the center is naturally my 5131G. That watch made my dreams come true and there is nothing to add to that.
World Time 5131G represents to me the Artistic Elegance.
I love all three. But it is Honeymoon time! I am focusing my eyes again and again to this:
Did you all find what you like: Casual Elegance, Perpetual Elegance or Artistic Elegance? I hope so.
However, there is something also for our dear Count: Plain Elegance. White metal (WG or platinum), blue dial and the basic 240 automatic movement.

You need a 5070P if you ask me :P But you've covered the blue theme, with all kind of white metals, each of your pieces being the king of the hill. Like i said you need a 5070P now

Nice collection
Nice collection of watches, different and yet the same with unity of color and movement. The cal. 240 is a thing of beauty! Really like the ellipse, simple and elegant. Sometimes less is more.

I just made a mistake. The dial of Golden Ellipse needs some light. I just tried the influence of light with 5131G - reverting to that soon. Best, Kari

I'm having a tough time...
deciding between a 5712A (steel/bracelet) vs. 5712R (rose gold/strap and deployant). I guess I'm having trouble, mostly, justifying as much for a steel watch. Chances are the 5712R will win!

I have several SdT winders and those are all great
In the past also Patek used those and Lange's winder seems to come from the same source. World Time is a wonderful complication. I like more 5110 because of the size and the dial work. But it is very personal. Best, Kari

I'm not trying to rub it in. BTW I really like artist who worked on the Dial of my 5131J. Many pictures show the J model as very muted and not as interesting as the G. I was lucky with the version I got. It's very beautifully done. MST

try also 3712 (if you can find it). IMO better dial, a bit slimmer, two-part case... Best, Kari
For me, it's the 3712.
I'm more of a sporty guy and the 3712 matches me more than the 5140 and 5131. But, my second choice would be the 5131. Aloha, Kari. Bob
