Patek Philippe

I agree!

I just made a mistake. The dial of Golden Ellipse needs some light. I just tried the influence of light with 5131G - reverting to that soon.

Kari, what can i say...

...stunning collection. 3712 is my choice...

3711 could be the missing link wink

thanks for sharing and have a nice day.

ciao, chris

I understand you choice

I'm having a tough time...

deciding between a 5712A (steel/bracelet) vs. 5712R (rose gold/strap and deployant).

I guess I'm having trouble, mostly, justifying as much for a steel watch.  Chances are the 5712R will win!

Supreme elegance...

Incredible trio you've curated there Kari...!  Here's my current mix,

Casual Elegance: AP 15300ST Royal Oak, it isn't a Jumbo but it's in my humble opinion a decent 'modern' RO; one of my requirements was a screw down crown and I just love how the bracelet 'drapes' over my wrist.

My late Father's Omega Constellation DeVille that was restored in Bienne is also pictured below on the left..

Poetic Elegance: My first Patek, one that I purchased last year to celebrate my (then) upcoming 30th birthday, a 5146J

Timeless Elegance: My recently acquired 5127R with matching Calatrava Deployant clasp and 18k RG cufflinks

I'm aiming for a Nautilus 5712(A/R) next but I must admit, the 5130 is also 'calling my name'...xD

Best, M.

Congratulations for your Elegant time pieces.

Indeed, 5712 would suit well. However, my favorite is plain steel and such would go well together with your RO.

Thanks Kari...

I would have to try them on 'side by side' and decide.  Problem is, my first 'love' is for the Calatrava design of cases.  Chances are I'll be drawn towards a 5130, 5960, 5140...

...and they are all on my "list" biggrin

That's a lovely scatola del tempo winder as well, what are your thoughts on it?  I've got an Orbita Sienna One in teak wood that has served well over the years.

Best, M.

I have several SdT winders and those are all great

 By: dr.kol : June 9th, 2013-11:46

In the past also Patek used those and Lange's winder seems to come from the same source.

World Time is a wonderful complication. I like more 5110 because of the size and the dial work. But it is very personal.

Best, Kari

The 5140 would be the first one I would garb to put on! [nt]

It is a wonderful watch

and I will correct my mistakes by taking some better pictures...

I can't pick one

As I already picked 2:

Congrats of your recent pickup.
I know you will enjoy them all.

Great trio Kari!! I would take the 5131 in a half a heart beat! Cheers, [nt]

I think I love all three about as much

 By: dr.kol : June 9th, 2013-12:30

but in different ways. I have often seen people calling some of their watches "keepers" and these three are for sure my keepers. Just add a chronograph with blue dial, keep the Golden Ellipse and there is nearly all a man needs. I am speaking about the basic needs...

basic needs...

 By: palmbeachguy : June 9th, 2013-20:59
dr.Kol,

Our Patek's are "basic needs" for us, right below, AIR, FOOD AND WATER... OH AND SEX.

When you'll approach my age of 57,

 By: dr.kol : June 9th, 2013-22:52

watches will probably pass sex. Might that be the reason that also my wife loves watches?

Best, Kari

That's hilarious.

I like the 3712 the most.  Thanks for sharing!

Very Nice

They all look great.  I switched from Orbita to Swiss Kubik.  They fit in the safe a little better.

Perhaps

you need a bigger safe together with more watches...

The Revolving World

Swiss Kubik Model.  I like each watch to have it's own winder.  I can easily move them between safe(s).  Even though I don't display watches I like models that have the door .. for extra protection.

Yu really like to show me your 5131J...

 By: dr.kol : June 10th, 2013-01:53

Even it hurts me, please believe that it hurts 50% less than most of the readers. On the other hand it's good that somebody is reminding about the dreams!

Best, Kari

Sorry

By: Mean Solar Time : June 10th, 2013-02:11

I'm not trying to rub it in.  BTW I really like artist who worked on the Dial of my 5131J. Many pictures show the J model as very muted and not as interesting as the G.  I was lucky with the version I got.  It's very beautifully done.

MST

Now I have to be honest:

 By: dr.kol : June 10th, 2013-04:35

I have seen one stunning J. When I got my call "J or G", after saying "both", my next (desperate) trial was "G with the dial of J". I knew that it would not work but still had to try.

My wife is having three Pateks and we have been discussing in the family if she should apply 5131J... I'll keep trying even I'm a very happy man just now.

Best, Kari

superb collection Kari! You've most of it covered!
