Rolex

"ghost" no-minute track dials

Ciao amici

a friend of mine, bought this wonderful piece:

as you can it's a beautiful "patinato" 1675 MK1 Long E, with a special featuring: minute tracks does not exist.

this is not the first I see, for ex:

1665 MK2 Rail

a 16570 polar

and also a couple of 1680 red sub (maybe FAP?) that i can't find at the moment.

SO!?

Who know something about it?

as you know, those dials are produced by various companies (Singer for Long E, Stern for SD MK2, maybe Rolex for this expII)...

so what's the story behind this ghoslty dials?

Fading? Discoloration? Factory error?

what i believe is we are not in front of some prototype dials, but i can't explayn myself this process...or pheraphs....this oversight!

what do you guys think?

regards!

chris
