I agree that it is unlikely that these are prototypes or unfinished dials. My only speculation would be that the minute track where
expressly removed. The plan may have been to repaint the minute tack and this never occurred.

I don't think these are proto dials... Because we all know the definitive dials, and they are not " minute index less ". Were they produced in a very small batch ,just because it was a mistake? The curious thing is that a Chronmeter demands an accurate mo...

even if sometimes we see that some "unfinished" dials are sought by some collectors. Singer especially use to dump defective dials somewhere through specific channel and/or persons ....... sometimes those "dumped" ones surfaced somewhere. The photo below ...

There is a submariner which claimed prototype status but the number of these dials seem high. Still have reservations and questions. Bill
