Chopard

Has anyone here owned one of these watches? Thoughts? I love the design of pretty much everything from their lineup, but this one takes the cake for me and the sizing is quite reasonable vs their larger pieces. ...  

has recently acquired it, and shared highly favorable views....

How did it stack up to others in the same range you’ve experienced? IE gauthier or Greubel?

on the same occasion I also tried on De Bethune’s titanium Starry Varius and I loved it even more. Open work watches are amazing to see but I personally prefer the mechanical magic to be kept at the back of the watch. And I prefer wearability and elegance... 

On paper everything looked amazing, finishing, construction, etc… But ergonomically not the best, at least on my wrist and also lucks legibility, which at this price it’s a determining factor to me. ...

Tons of details everywhere you look...very cool!

I tried it on and it was way too heavy for a gold watch. I have tried on a Rolex Day Date with a platinum bracelet that felt lighter! Yes the dial and the movement of the FB3 are at a different level from most watches but for me, a heavy watch is a big no... 

I was pretty excited about the FB3 as a simpler back to basics addition, saw some pre-release renders and viewed them at the launch. The design didn't quite resonate with me unfortunately but the detail and craftsmanship are impressive. I like the size, l...  

I would have thought the frosting makes it shimmer. So it’s similar to the matte-ish frosting Breguet does on the tradition instead of something like the super shimmery Lm101 gold style frosting?

But yeah, the LM101 almost looks like it has a clear / gloss coat on the frosting while I remember the FB3 having a more natural fine sand blast but it could have been the lighting so I would try to see it in person. As I understand it all the parts are s...

What did you think of the watch?

I think this is more reasonably sized for an FB, understatedly styled (a plus for me), but with a lot of visual interest, and seemed like a watch that would be great in a daily rotation. In person, as you have seen, I think the legibility is quite decent,...  

It’s a lot “bolder” than most of my watches, which are more traditional in both look and size. And perhaps it pushes the limit for my 6.75 inch wrist. But I really enjoy wearing it, and the finishing is remarkable. A fun one to have on the wrist. ...
