Chopard L.U.C. Quattro Mark IV in Platinum . . .
During my visit last month, I had the opportunity to see the L.U.C Quattro Mark IV in rose gold:
Yesterday, another flight delay at Logan — this time due to tires rather than weather — caused me to miss my connection to Syracuse at LaGuardia. But as any enthusiast knows, a six-hour layover can turn into a very productive opportunity.😁
After confirming with the wonderful folks at the Chopard Boutique, I made my way to Midtown Manhattan to finally experience the platinum iteration of this beauty in person!
Although the rose gold iteration appeared to get most of the attention during Watches and Wonders ’25, I’ve been more keenly interested in this platinum iteration. In fact, this is probably my favorite release according to the press releases. But would seeing this in the flesh convey the same emotions?
I can now say with certainty: absolutely, yes. This is a gorgeous and spectacular work of art.😍🔥😍🔥
At 39mm in diameter, the size feels just right. My only hesitation going in was the listed case thickness of 10.4mm. But in hand (and on wrist), Chopard’s execution defies expectations — delivering a technical horological marvel that remains remarkably wearable.
Powering it is the Calibre 98.09-L — a manually wound, COSC-certified movement with twin barrels, beating at 28,800vph and boasting an incredible 9-day (216-hour) power reserve. The finishing is everything you’d expect from the L.U.C line — maybe more.
Also worth noting: this model introduces Chopard’s new proprietary quick-release system for the straps — a thoughtful and welcome upgrade for those who enjoy a versatile rotation.
Who knew a delayed flight and a missed connection would lead to one of the highlights of my month? The platinum L.U.C Quattro Mark IV turned my travel frustration into a horological win. Chopard — thank you for making layovers a little more luxurious.🙏 I didn’t leave with it — but I definitely left thinking about it!

But if I had walked out with one, the platinum would’ve been dangerously close to jumping on my wrist.
Every brand should do the quick release system...it's an easy innovation and game changer.

Very nice looking watches.
The textured dial on the platinum version is very interesting. It appears to give off many different colors from the different angles of the pictures. The rainbow colors look great with the white metal of the platinum case.
