I posted about this issue several weeks ago (and I got very few replies). I don’t think it’s a matter of quality it is just that they have used too much “cushioning” in the strap. Do let us know if it softens up for you.
I didn’t take notice then since I just got this, but Cpt provided hope of it loosening with time. I’ll give it a chance, but it was surprising. And I didn’t realize your point about the cushioning, very helpful.

If still too still after that can’t an after marker strap with no padding in the strap. I think some else mentionned it already, the issue is the padding in the strap. For all my aftermarket straps I never put padding
and I like to see part of the strap too. A lizard strap may not be allowed in your area, but that small pattern will look good with these smaller Tank Louis Cartier's. GEO
