Interesting SIHH 2007 Cartier: Rotonde de Cartier à grande complication from Collection Privée
From the top end Collection Privée Cartier Paris (CPCP) comes the Rotonde de Cartier à grande complication.
I've always liked the aesthetics of the CPCP and respected the quality. One of my favourites from this range is the Pasha tourbillon, using a GP Three Gold Bridges movement, and now sadly discontinued. Below are the two variations of the Pasha tourbillon, and both use the Three Gold Bridges movement as a base. The CPCP collection all possess quite outstanding finishing, a world away from les Must de Cartier goldplated lighters and pens.

The mass market Cartier products overshadow the high end, high quality pieces. Like the Cartier high jewellery range made in their Paris workshop (average price of a piece is EUR250,000), the CPCP is little know and under appreciated IMHO.

SJX, Don't go on to tell everybody about Cartier CPCP watches; it's meant to be a secret pleasure for discerning collectors Louis Cartier (1875-1942) is credited with creating the first man's wristwatch in 1904 for his Brazilian friend and client, aviator...
