Cartier

I think Quartz is technically more superior for timekeeping.

Even though I only have 1 quartz watch in my collection (a Tank Francaise), I have to say the whole quartz hate is so unwarranted for. Quartz came in in the 70's and just demolish the entire Swiss watch industry. They are accurate, simple to produce, insensitive to shock/vibration, and almost fail-proof. There are reason why Quartz put Swiss watch industry to a crisis and made 1,000 watchmaker brand to close their workshop forever. The only way they survive is by putting a very aggressive marketing campaign to shame quartz and made mechanical watch a creme de la creme that no peasant can afford. Quartz and mechanical watch seems to be very different but that's because Swiss watch marketing team told us exactly that. In the heart of it, they are just a time instrument where one is technically way superior whilst very cheap to manufactured.

My experience with quartz is always very pleasant. My Tank from 1996 only need a battery change every 4 years, took 2 hours to service in my Cartier authorized service centre, and cost me $50 including gasket change. While my ultra thin Santos took me 4 months to service (twice back to service centre because they are not adjusted properly) and cost me $700. Not to mention the quartz is as thin as ultra thin Cartier 21P and way more accurate. The only downside is probably you just don't hear them tick. No regret at all as I prefer electric car than a diesel.
