Sorry to hear that, it’s indeed sad that an otherwise beautiful city has become known as the world capital of watch thefts, with all the obvious implications for tourism and also Italy’s reputation in general.

I visited Napoli a couple summers ago, and to be very honest, even if I’m Italian and had to see some ADs in the area, it didn’t cross my mind to bring a watch there (nor I let my girlfriend wear any particular jewels or bags — she’s young and Korean so even more “noticeable” than me in Italy). Ironically, a few select nearby towns on that magnificent coast (Amalfi, Positano, etc. or of course the island of Capri) are *extremely* safe. But as soon as you set your foot in the city you have to know that virtually anything can happen, sadly, including in the “safer” neighborhoods in the center😇😉

2021 Bulgari New Octo Finissimo Releases

 By: patrick_y : January 27th, 2021-17:37
Three new models for us Octo Finissimo lovers to drool at. Our highly esteemed member Keks already pointed out the coolest one, but there are two more models for our eyeballs to look at! Effortlessly cool guy "Keks" who is a big sports fan and watch fan r...

I love it w 100m wr

Yes! That's a big deal!

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-18:28
It's definitely good to have some water resistance!

Thanks to you (and to Keks) for sharing the latest Octo Finissimo releases! I'm very attracted to this line, and I think it does make sense for Bulgari to continue updating its offering in this direction, given the enormous success of the OF ;-)

 By: FabR : January 27th, 2021-18:39
The new entry I like the most is probably the last one...I had a chance to sit down and see quite a few of the OF releases last I was in Napoli (summer of 2019), and I probably find the time-only version the neatest and most symbolic. However, one cannot ...

I'm a little worried about this watch in Napoli...

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-18:28
When I think Napoli, I think beautifully well dressed Italians all wearing bright colors or slightly unusual but expressive colors. Does this watch in grey titanium pair well with bright colors? It's so modern and monotonous that I'm imagining it pairs be...

I would also be a bit worried about wearing this watch in Napoli (and I know you were expecting this *exact* line as an honest response ;-))

 By: FabR : January 28th, 2021-19:20
What is also true, however, is that the local people, at least in certain circles, do indeed tend to dress more originally/joyfully...For instance, I believe you like Isaia (also one of my favorite brands), and I think they represent *really* well the nat...

I'm starting to become a little more daring...

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-19:36
I like the way they dress in Napoli. Bright happy colors. And it's not overdone. It's usually just one piece; one pant, or one jacket, or one shirt. They try not to overdo it in Napoli. The polished steel version of the watch would probably work well, but...

I was mugged for a watch in Naples

Yikes! That's unfortunate.

I thinks it's pretty obvious

 By: Mostel : January 27th, 2021-19:26
Bulgari is onto something iconic with this model series... This chrono is pretty dam cool... Like the time only model... there is a 'squareness' to the case, wrist-presence that I am not completely sold on... it looks so boxy... However, I admire this ser...

Yes! You have to try them all on!

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-18:33
The stainless steel version with the black or blue face excites me a lot, as does the standblasted titanium version. The sandblasted steel version that Foversta has is also very cool; it's actually plated in rhodium to get that whiteness. The plating is q...

One very minor correction

 By: Esharp : January 27th, 2021-21:17
The silver-dial time-only Finissimo is the same model as the blue and black dials in steel from last year, which are just a tiny bit thicker than the titanium model with its 30m WE, but upgraded to 100m WR. Seems they’re calling this more resistant steel ...

What about the black dial?

 By: piccolochimico (aka dsgalaxy1) : January 27th, 2021-22:19
I've just pulled the trigger for that one. 😉

Congrats!

 By: Esharp : January 28th, 2021-03:53
You’ll have to share a wrist shot... Best E.

Oh! Very nice! Big congrats!

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-18:36

I like the original in Ti and the steel in blue or black the most personally! I anticipate I'll like the blue or black dial in the steel version more than this new grey dial.

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-18:36
I haven't seen the silver dial, but I like the blue or black dial so much already... I'd say you're well covered on the titanium model. That's the most pure form of this watch!

Effortlessly cool ;)

Thank you dearly for those kind and loving words. An excellent summary of the novelties just presented and all add a nice complement to the existing offerings. Many have tried offer a new line of contemporary sports watches with a unique character and exc...

Very compelling!

I would prefer a 100mWR 40mm titanium case with black opaline dial and stick index (no numerals) and double sticks at 12... no brand or text at all on the dial ..

Suppose

 By: keks : January 28th, 2021-09:14
It would perhaps be quite similar to my titanium 40mm.... except mine is not 100mWR and has a skeleton dial...: ...

Gorgeous piece...

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-17:26
It doesn't hurt to own two... One cool one for WatchProSite gatherings like the Skeleton... And a steel 100 meters water resistant version for days you don't want to wear a Nautilus, but want to wear something similar. Octo Finissimo, the best alternative...

Very cool!

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-23:41
I'm still crossing my fingers for a Tadao Ando version. In the meanwhile I drool at Horology75's photos...

That is a very cool iteration!

 By: keks : January 29th, 2021-09:19
Enjoy!

Hmm...

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-18:09
I like that idea, but there might not be any orange; I'd like an watch with orange hands, but we might be the only ones!

A Purist Edition is a good idea...

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-18:13
I have to admit, I've toyed with the idea, and I have several ideas, but have yet to bring it up with Bulgari. So, in summary, so far, no official action nor approach to Bulgari has been made. These editions are difficult, but not impossible. Some brands ...

It really is a special piece. It's going to be a future watch for architects...

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-18:15
I have seen a few architects, several car designers, and two fashion designers all wearing the IWC Portuguese Chronograph. It seems to be the "architect's" watch. Well, I think this Octo Finissimo is going to be the next one! The lines are just so sensual...

Me too! Ironically, I especially like the "architect" version, the Tadao Ando version...

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-18:22
I just salivate whenever I see Horology75 and Watchbiao's photos of the Tadao Ando.

We can only dream.

No! He didn't! He really really didn't! I promise! Besides, he's too cool for that!

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-18:04
You're a really cool guy too! And that Urwerk of yours is my favorite!

I think a large part of the attraction of the design (case, bracelet) hinges on the dial.

 By: Jay (Eire) : January 28th, 2021-05:54
For me of these three the Steel is the purest and also the most visually attractive. The contrasting dials of blue and black which we had seen before do not appeal to me at all. It’s a completely different watch if you know I mean. I think the original Ti...

I do like the original Titanium model a lot...

 By: patrick_y : January 28th, 2021-18:16
And I really like that Tadao Ando edition.
