You could well be right that this design was in the works long before the "handover" occurred.
Or the handover could have been in the works long before we knew about it. In which case, perhaps a new direction in dial design was mooted to coincide with a pre-Basel timing for announcement of the amalgamation.
Or it could be that we are all reading too much into this one piece.
Nevertheless, I can't help but feel that the Quadri-Retro is a significant step backwards for Gérald Genta, oops, the "Gérald Genta by Bulgari" collection. It's just too.....polite.
