there are a number of used ones in the secondary market but I wanted a new one. There is something about buying a new watch that is difficult to explain but gives one unparalleled satisfaction. And I tend to keep my watches pretty well so finding a 30 yea...

but I always feel the deciding factor on buying any watch is how well it fits one's wrist. I too am not comfortable with watches with thick cases (except for my LM101!) ...

I noticed my thread being moved from Independents to Bulgari. Is there a reason for this as I never considered my Daniel Roth to be a Bulgari?! Surely it is now part of the LVMH group as the Bulgari ownership ended in 2011!

I actually feel the longer we wait for something, the more we end up appreciating it. For example, it took me 56 years beforefinally meeting my soulmate and my perfect partner and it has been appreciated every day!

especially as I have a small wrist but the short curved lugs made the watch very wearable. With any watch, it is the lugs that matter so that Patke skeleton is 31.5mm in diameter compared to the Montblanc's 44.6mm. Rarely do two watches of massively diffe...

I never though I would own a Daniel Roth and when they reintroduced the tourbillon a year ago, my heart skipped a beat as it brought back memories. But when I saw the Ultra thin, I knew this was it. The fact that Kuala Lumpur had one and Singapore did not...

I too am ever so pleased that the Louis Vuitton Group has allowed the Daniel Roth brand to reflourish yet keeping many of its traditional values. I believe it is now an even more complete watch than before and even more wearable with its short curved lugs...

The yellow gold version is now become my phone's wallpaper...which (usually) will be my next acquisition...my wife knows this very well I hope to be able to see it myself.

I hope you can find a yellow piece since they were only limited to 20 pieces and I believe that they have been sold out. My skin tone is more partial to rose gold and I also prefer the exhibition case on the rose gold model. But the yellow gold is also a ... 

I think we're in a golden era of LVMH watches where they are investing a ton of resources into the actual products and really putting out great pieces at the top end while they aren't pressured by volume.

LVMH has certainly raised the bar when it comes to the quality of the high end watches within their group. Whether or not the collectors can appreciate this is a different matter but I feel it would be an opportunity lost not to acquire a quality product ...

I certainly hope the volume never gets to 20k per annum. Exclusivity helps to make these watches more desirable.

They still have Genta to launch and Arnault is still looking to buy Patek so there's no sign of changing strategy anytime soon. Based on what they've done with other brands, I would expect them to continue to keep Daniel Roth exclusive and test the top en... 

I do hope that they keep certain brands exclusive. It is the smart thing to do. Ok, ok, again I am thinking of myself first rather than for the bottom line of LVMH!

The case and dial are beyond gorgeous. This has to be my favorite of all your exquisite purchases. Remember to take it off when you shower.

I have never worn a watch in the shower, in the pool or on the squash court so no chance of me treating the Roth to a shower on my wrist! :Hope you are keeping well.

I owned this Daniel Roth Ultra Thin years back with the FP 71 movement with that off-center rotor. I loved the shape of the watch and simplicity of the dial, but it was very unreliable so I sold it. ...  

because my previous three Daniel Roths were very accurate and reliable. You did the right thing selling yours because no watch no matter how beautiful should fail the reliability test. Time will tell if mine remains reliable but I am very much hoping so. ...
