The wonderful universe of Breguet.

Shame on me, Breguet is a brand I am discovering. For some years, now, yes, but there are brands I know much better.

Why? I couldn't say.

But one thing is sure: They made and still make some very nice and good watches.

Here is my conception of the wonderful universe of Breguet, my level of knowledge about this great brand.

1/ The 1775, the Subscription watch. Platinum case, enamel dial. A wonder.

How I would have loved a manual winding movement!

2/ 3330: Pure Breguet DNA. One of the most styled and refined complete calendar and moon phase! In white gold, here.

3/ 3420: In a delicious platinum case, a jumping hour.

4/ La Tradition, white gold, 37 mm case. If there is a watch which sums what is the Breguet DNA, this is, for me, the La Tradition, along with the 3330.

5/ Classique Enamel Blue. The current one. Ref 5177 In White Gold.

6/ The sublime Chronograph 5247, in white gold and its enamel dial...

7/ I will not close this selection without mentioning the only one in my collection, the Type XX Platinum and its salmon dial, of course.

I would gladly mention a vintage Type XX, FG 54 or a later one such as a CEV... But we'll soon discuss that.

Please share with us your thoughts and Breguet of your dreams!

Best,

Nicolas

But which I have never come close to desiring, no matter how many times I try them on. An enigma to me. Cazalea

The soft spot for this brand in my heart is big. Your selection here is a great representation, but I wouldn’t consider myself anywhere close to an expert on the brand. I am lucky to own the Tradition you show here but only in the automatic version with r...

Good topic! I would include the Marine 5817 as a long-lived classic.

There are a number of real charmers in the classique collection, the enamel moonphase 7787, for example. Modern Breguet's insistence on following in A.L. Breguet's footsteps as an innovator points to models such as the classique chronometrie 7727, which w...

The Reine de Naples has to be added, indeed. It is one of the nicest ladies watch.

From the collection of this year. ...

Agreed with you Nico but I would add one...

...one which is 200% Breguet DNA and that I find absolutely stunning the ref 3137 (same as 3130 but with sapphire case back and skeleton movement). Actually my podium would be 1775 (Indeed superb and understated as I like), 3137 (white gold case even if o...

Great Post, Mon Ami. Truly A Special Brand...

I love Breguet

But is Breguet 'Breguet' any more? Whoever is running this brand has been very true to it... but what is 'Breguet'? I love the purest Breguets... time/no date/gorgeous dials and numerals... gasp-worthy movements! Of course the vintage/vintage inspired chr...

I could spend hours looking at these photographs. They capture everything that makes a Breguet a Breguet.

Complete calendar

That complete calendar is so elegant and yet so cool at the same time. A feast for the eye
