I'm new here and just one week ago bought my first Breguet, a Marine 5817 in stainless steel. I bought it new from an AD, and I've worn the watch since I bought it.
At any rate, today at just about 3:00 pm, I looked at my watch and noticed for the first time that the hour hand was not properly aligning with the hour reference marker. I believe this can be seen in the photograph below.
The watch has not been exposed to any special stress. I would in any even expect it to be a reasonably robust watch.
I'm curious as to whether anyone has seen anything quite like this or has any comments or advice.
I intend to go back to the AD tomorrow to see about getting this attended to.
While I'm new to Breguet, I'm not particularly new to mechanical watches. I've had good quality watches for some time, including a TAG Heuer Link 36 Calibre, an IWC Spitefire Chronograph and a Rolex Explorer II, and I've never seen anything like this.
Perhaps I should have noticed this sooner. When I bought the watch, I examined it closely for dings, scratches or signs of damage. But I guess I took it for granted that the hands would properly align. In any case, it's really only particular obvious at the hour or half hour, and I guess until today I hadn't happened to look at the watch at either time.
I would be grateful for anyone's thoughts.
