Breguet

Thanks Frank...I also live in a tropical climate ...

 

where a metal band is more practical than leather.....Queensland Australia.... but we dont have a big watch culture in this country and so chioce and stock  are limited.

Actually, there are only 5 Breguet ADs in the whole of Australia and the AD in Queensland,  advised me this week, that they are not holding Breguet in our State  anymore because there is not enough turnover to warrent holding stock....so that means only 4 left. and so now the closest is 1,000 ks away.

A pity because I think the Breguet are unique in that they have managed to continue to change to suit modern markets while still retaining the original basics of watch design and practicality.

The only negative I have with my Breguets is in that the Crock bands in our climate are not so practical for general daytime use....but then a 5817 with a gold band might look like one is wearing a mini sun on the wrist.

I guess I will never know unless I check out the ADs in other countries....anyway glad your AD had the stock to do the right thing so quickly.

I am sure you will enjoy your 5817.

Jack, I have to say that I love the 5817 in gold with the leather band. That is a very attractive watch. I do tend to prefer bracelets on my watches. Most of the watches I wear regularly have bracelets. Among other things, I find that they breathe well in...

Well, I took the watch into the AD today and showed a print of the photograph to the sales person who sold me the watch, and then I showed her the watch. She immediately called the assistant manager over. He looked at the photograph and the watch and said...

Hello, misaligned hands are not so rare as one might think at top brands,no idea why they don't check their pieces better before they sell them to the AD. Normally they fix it quickly at the AD. But I never heard that a watch is replaced because of that! ...
