Not exactly an aviation watch...

... but more a dress watch, this Type XX Transatlantique rose gold:

Got this one as a trade in on my AP ROO, and I actually thought about letting it go quickly, because in comparison to my Aeronavale watches it just did not seem right...

... but after wearing it for two days I now see it as what it is - a totally different watch that shares the same beautiful case, the movement and the functional bi-directional bezel with the Aeronavale, but also carries enough elements like the applied indexes, the gold hands, the matte grained white dial, building it's separate character.

As a matter of fact my iPhone does not manage to capture the real colour of the rose gold - something that warrants a new IOS version to be developed smile

And since I cannot show the real appearance, I will end with a shot that at least reveals some of the depth and character of this 3820:

Clearly, letting it go quickly does no longer appear to be the right thing to do ;-)

Cheers
Henrik

Now that you've had it for a while, how wearable do you find it? Where it is sitting on the sport/dress line? Any drawbacks or would you wholeheartedly recommend it? Will you keep it?

Hah ;-) a lot of questions...

... let me provide some answers: Wearability is like with any other Type XX, just comfortable, good size, a little top heavy in gold, since it has some considerable weight. I find it more on the casual side, especially with the orange/brown strap. The nic...

That's very helpful, thanks again!

I have an excellent watchmaker in NYC for Breguet and everything else (well, almost everything, FPJ goes back to FPJ), so I think a type XX or xxi would be no problem. Your take on wearability is very nice!
