Breguet production years ?
Hi,
Does anybody know why Breguet will not disclose the production year of their watches?
I have just purchased a Breguet Marine 3400BA and I understand they were made pre-swatch era.
I gave Breguet the serial number but they say that are not, and I quote "entitled to communicate production years for Breguet timepieces".
Why is this?
Thank you

Breguet Marine 3400BA

I’d characterize this is as standard Swiss watch company/brand “deny and change the topic” operation. Which worked ok many years ago before the web and almost instantaneous transfer of information round the world by interested parties. Nowadays, the attem...

In hindsight I wasn’t sure if my shot across the bow was too strong or not, however re-reading it, I stand by it fully, as the truth will set one free. I wish these companies would “get” this. Sorry to have missed you in SF on Sunday evening... Cheers, Ti...

Does when sold and to whom refer to the end customer or the AD? I have not yet sent in my registration cards for two Breguet pieces so I'm assuming they track it as far as the AD until I register my pieces. Or is that something the AD does?
Referring to AD.

In the past some watch companies had independent distributors in certain regions, specific countries or continents, that would then be responsible for who (which AD’s) got what watches. So from this standpoint, the manufacturers might not know which speci...
