Referring to AD.
In the past some watch companies had independent distributors in certain regions, specific countries or continents, that would then be responsible for who (which AD’s) got what watches. So from this standpoint, the manufacturers might not know which specific AD sold which watch.
However, they certainly know by serial number, when they sold it from the manufacturer.
To not want to reveal that.....mmmm!

Breguet production years ?
Hi, Does anybody know why Breguet will not disclose the production year of their watches? I have just purchased a Breguet Marine 3400BA and I understand they were made pre-swatch era. I gave Breguet the serial number but they say that are not, and I quote...

Try emailing higher up the line (and explain you are not selling the watch).
Because you might be unhappy if your new watch was made years ago

Does when sold and to whom refer to the end customer or the AD? I have not yet sent in my registration cards for two Breguet pieces so I'm assuming they track it as far as the AD until I register my pieces. Or is that something the AD does?
