Breguet

Hi Steve,

I’d characterize this is as standard Swiss watch company/brand “deny and change the topic” operation.
Which worked ok many years ago before the web and almost instantaneous transfer of information round the world by interested parties.
Nowadays, the attempt to “pull the wool over our eyes” is sad, almost embarrassing and in my opinion shameful.

From your picture, this is a model that features a lovely Frederic Piguet based automatic caliber. Shared with many Blancpains of the same era, albeit finished differently to Breguet’s style and standard. A good looking, solid watch.

Does your watch have an exhibition back or is it solid gold?

Breguet knows exactly when this was sold and to whom.

Whether or not they are willing to share that info, is why they will never be looked upon in the same category as say Patek, who will issue an extract from the archives for all their watches.

Games played by watch companies, to hide, obfuscate or lie about when and where, can only hold them in a poor light from my perspective. Who are they trying to protect? Why, is a good question too?

Maybe I’m off base here, but actions speak volumes over words...

Breguet isn’t alone in this behavior, and in my opinion it’s high time collectors and consumers held the proverbial feet to the fire.

Cheers,
Tim
