Would try hard to get one if there was no date. Will pass even though I still think it’s a nice watch with the date.

In reality, just offer a regular BP in 40-42mm, sans date, and with sensible thickness...

I think the dial is the main appeal of this watch, there is no reason to poke a hole in it. For me there are two more issues that are more obvious in person than in pictures - the case is too thick relative to its diameter, the same for the bezel which ma...

Why BP insists on that angled date indicator year after year, SMH? And who needs to know the date when you are in/under water? 🤷‍♂️

And if the case could be the one they used for the 50th Anniversary edition, even better. Best, Vte

..... pilot, you get up and you know the date. You do not need the date on your wristwatch. Trouble is that 99+% of the respective buyers are neither divers nor pilots. But then, eh, buy another watch if the missing date bothers you. Cheers, HSTE

But quite pleased with the watch anyway! Then again, I am a total Blancpain FF newbie and when I first saw the announcement of this piece, I decided to jump right in and become a new owner. I just wish they had an easier method for changing straps. In any...

In the tribute, does the moisture indicator actually work, or is it purely for show?

Of course, with the development in technology, it should be rather useless, because the probability of water entrance is very Low.

... no date would be perfect. However, it is a modern interpretation, other than the Omega Trilogy 1957 watches it is not meant to exactly replicate the original. A modern dive watch is often more an everyday watch, so for me it works with date - it still...  

As an owner of a Mil Spec, I'd be pretty annoyed if Blancpain released another version without a date. I'd sell mine and never buy another limited edition watch from them.

I suppose that wouldn't bother me. Just don't go crazy like Omega with 50 different Speedmaster special editions.

But delete that date window and it's perfection!

They both look fabulous. amazing watch really. Now, will blancpain give us 40mm ff? they already released 38mm Bathy. so ff50 is incoming? moreover, the watch was released since 2007. the upgrade is impending.

With the editing. One other thing...prefer a brushed finish versus a polished finish. An FF should be more understated and less bling, just like how tool watches are meant to be.

I’m going to be in the minority and say I prefer with the date. I think it’s functional and I like the splash of asymmetry it gives to the dial. I completely understand the ‘no date’ camp though!
