It took me about 15 years...

But I finally tracked down a 50th Anniversary in great condition. This piece, right out of the box, is as nice as I always thought it would be...

Watch by Blancpain, Fifty Fathoms

BP did a great job at blending in the date on the dial. I guess I'd prefer it without, but the date window doesn't bother me at all. The 40mm size is perfect on my wrist and the bracelet is fantastic. I was going to get a strap for this piece as well but the X-71 bracelet is so nice that I'm going to wear it as is...

This one is going to stick around, it has been my favorite modern Blancpain for a while and owning one now only solidifies that opinion. I couldn't be happier with this piece!...

Is more fun than getting the actual watch. In this case both were equally great!

Thanks Nicolas!....

I actually thought of you before I bought it and confirmed the number of this piece before I moved forward. I hope yours finds it's way home one day...

Thanks. I took it into the boutique today...

As I was having trouble sizing the bracelet myself. The rep who helped me at the 5th Avenue boutique said he has a client who owns one but had never seen a 50th Anniversary in person until today. These are really hard to come by, I hope your able to track...

Congratulations!

Those are hard to find and absolutely the best modern Blancpain divers. Glad to see it on you!

Thank you!

I wish I would have purchased this piece 12 years ago when I had the last chance though. Would have been much cheaper!

A true luxury dive watch

Much more so than the sub, it's quite noticeable in the metal. I am quite curious about the new 42mm.

It actually looks like a no date Sub...

At first glance but this BP is definitely more refined than a sub, especially for the 2003 time period when this piece was produced. I have to stop back at the boutique on Monday, I'm going to try one of the 42mm 50 fathoms then for the first time. 42mm f...

I used to drool over this watch when drhr posted pictures of his on the WUS forum back in the day

And it is no different today, what a lovely piece this is. Had a full size FF a couple of years back but it wore too large for my 17 cm circumference wrists, and yours is a much more manageable 40 mm if I'm not mistaken. Also prefer this dial over the ful...

Thanks Pieter...

I had a full size 50 Fathoms at one point as well but didn't keep it because of it's 45mm size. I love the fact that BP released 42mm versions into regular production. It is going to be much more wearable for most people. The 40mm versions of the 50 fatho...

Congrats on the obtaining the 50th anniversary, in many ways a superior offering to my 70th anniversary. The supplied change tool for the bracelet and the ability to alter the watch completely make it a far better value than my 70th anniversary and the 40...

Congrats on your 70th as well...

While it's a little thicker than the 50th I think it is just as beautiful. I would love to see the 70th on the X-71 bracelet, have not seen photos of that setup yet. To be honest the changing tools that come with the 50th are overrated. I never see myself...

I would also add...

That the 50th anniversary was really the piece that kicked off all of the modern Fifty Fathoms models that we see today. A total of 150 watches were made back in 2003 in 3 series of 50. Series 1 was sold in the European market, series 2 was sold in the As...

I tried on the 42mm Fifty Fathoms yesterday...

I went back to the boutique to switch out a strap for another one of my watches and got the chance to try the 42mm version on. It's thicker than the 50th but really nice. I loved the rose gold version. Here is the titanium with blue dial... The Rose gold ...
