That the 50th anniversary was really the piece that kicked off all of the modern Fifty Fathoms models that we see today. A total of 150 watches were made back in 2003 in 3 series of 50. Series 1 was sold in the European market, series 2 was sold in the Asian market, and series 3 was sold in the Americas. It was also the first watch ever to incorporate a sapphire bezel.
It took me about 15 years...
But I finally tracked down a 50th Anniversary in great condition. This piece, right out of the box, is as nice as I always thought it would be... BP did a great job at blending in the date on the dial. I guess I'd prefer it without, but the date window do...
