Several of the new Cvstos models were already covered late last year in the Cvstos monster thread (click here to see the discussion).
The main launch for 2009 is a square case, the Evosquare. Several different models are available, including a chronograph and a tourbillion. Measuring a massive 59 x 49 mm, the Evosquare case is an immense watch. I find the watch far, far too large, but the case shape is unique it could look good on a large enough wrist.

Another new model is the Chrono Carbon which features carbon fibre inlay on the bezel and pushers. This idea came about from a piece unique commissioned by a customer, Sassoun Sirmakes liked the idea so much he sought the customers permission to make more and the result is the Chrono Carbon.
The next watch is interesting, a chronograph with rotating discs for all the counters, the High Fidelity Chrono (I have no idea why it was so named). That idea is not new, TAG Heuer has tried it, but the Cvstos is actually very attractive. Unlike the TAG Heuer where the rotating discs are largely covered, the discs on the Cvstos are mostly exposed and fun to watch.
Finally we have a steel chronograph with plasma-treated blue bezel. The blue is a brilliant, metallic blue that looks very good. Plasma treatment is typically used in the automotive industry and it has a higher level of adhesion to the substrate than PVD. Furthermore, plasma converts the substrate metal into its oxide, rather than leaving a coating on the substrate, hence scratching the surface will not reveal a differently coloured base.
