There are things I like a lot on this version: Especially the double round head lights ( which I prefer to the more normal not to say banal rectangular shaped ones ), and the space for the luggage. Now, I find that the Targa ruins the line of the car. The...  

reminds me of the BMW 3 series convertibles by Baur. I call them convertibles wannabes. Either get a coupe or a full convertible and not something with a hideous roof structure

If I recall correctly the first Gen XK8 took over the platform of this one, so the major difference was optical 😉

The underlying platform was carried over IIRC. Same also for the DB7 I believe.

But when I was let’s say 12 tot 18 years old I absolutely loved this car. No idea what series it was back then but was itched end of the 1980’s And tbh this might be one I would buy one day. Just cause I always liked it so much. But as said, to me cars ar... 

I yearned for this car (the coupe version) when I was a kid and had pretty much forgotten about it for many years until noticing one in the movie 'Only Lovers Left Alive'. Now I dream of an extra garage space to put one in!

Not the conventional beauty but somehow appealing irrespective of that 😊 Also agree that the coupe looks best of the lot and the double round headlights are the nicest ones 👌🏻👍🏻

factory fresh. That V12 should get tit down the road pretty good, but it looks like it may need tires. left rear and right front don't look to good, maybe its just the angle of the photo.

I can just say I always loved it. Clearly not the most beautiful Jaguar, but full of charm and totally unpretentious. ...  

The Targa is an interesting but not really well-executed mix in my view. Overall, still a beautiful car.

however I would prefer a TWR XJR-S

a friend of mine has rather old Jaguar. When the car had been new it had cost as much as a house for a family. The car has not even an air condition.
