Maybe a 280 SL (that I love too) is easier to drive in modern cities, but if I had to choose I would not hesitate and take the 190 SL. Beauty and love are the criteria for me, not practicity. Would you prefer any quartz watch because practical more than a nice mecanical watch. I assume we would all choose the same one, and it is not quartz...

Regarding fines, you're lucky my friend. I paid twice 220 CHF for only 5 km above the limit in Geneva 😩 I would have preferred to dine with my wife in a nice restaurant or buy a vintage GP 😉 Best wishes Alkiro

In my opinion, it's a beautiful indestructable car with no low-end torque, bad gearing for motorways, heavy though removeable hardtop which one never removes (but once), and sky-high parts prices. so I think I will grab one of those Golf estates instead. ...

None of them sadly because they are too small, much more expensive to restore than any american made vintage road car and they don't offer much room
