I have to admit I was little hurt that I was not allocated a speedster but I’m realistic I know the demand far outweighed the supply and they were reserved for the VIP and 918 owners. For the last 3 years I would just keep seeing them online but couldn’t ...  

I guess the love and beauty outweighs the canvas in our weather? My inexperience with soft top is limiting my options in our area where it rains half the year and the many bird treasures raining from the sky 😅. I hope the GT3RS did not get sacrificed for ... 

I was doing 100mph and it felt like a coupe. The car is perfection. I plan to drive it only in the summer months with the top down. Unfortunately, the RS went to make room for this but I have a 992 RS allocation so it won’t be long before I add a bigger b... 

Do tell me, not being a Porsche fanatic myself, what is it exactly that elevates the Speedster, in any context, from its more 'traditional' 911 siblings?? Thanks for the pics, it's lovely to see your daughter so overjoyed with it . Cheers, Filip

Porsche had a VIP program so those legacy customers get first dibs @ MSRP. Whatever cars are left of a limited run like this one go to everyone else but of course everyone else means the preferred customers at the dealer level, preferred being huge spend ... 

Arguably the used mark up tends to be higher because many of us peons weren't knighted in order to be given a chance to buy new. I honestly think very few of these went for MSRP unless you were a 918 owner so true MSRP is an open question? There is MSRP a... 

Aside from the 918 owners (maybe 2/3 still in VIP program?) I do think there are a decent number of dealer VIPs / collectors / dealer family that received cars at MSRP, like the guy I know who got two of them, and then you have ROW dealers which depending... 

I believe I could have bought it for $130k and was going to but it wouldn't fit in my garage at the house I owned at the time. The driveway was too steep and that is not a car that you leave out on the street. I had to reluctantly drive it back to the dea... 

It is intriguing to learn about this level of ‘competition’ (for lack of a better characterization) that I thought was just reserved for select vintage models. But now learning this, I am that much more happier to see you were able to make this one happen... 

Same number, except one out and one in. But figured if I’m getting the 992 RS it’s a bit redundant to keep the 991 RS. Plus garage space is limited. I’ll have to break the rules and get a booster for my baby girl and drive around the neighborhood, at low ... 

I have to credit my Dad on this one he was with me at the dealership and was like it’s now or never son. When I was being a little hesitant.

Fully understand your emotions even though the Speedster (having owned 911 since the early 90ies) has never appealed to me compared to the classic shape of the 911. I am sure this will be a long-term keeper for you, no matter what the future of 911s will ... 

The air cooled vs water cooled debate is like talking about religion and politics to Porsche guys

does not matter whether air or water but the Speedster never appealed to me in any kind of engine. on the other debate I actually belong to the air cooled fraction but not on a religious level ;-) they are just more go-cart-like but I sold all anyways

Would be very much at the top of my wishlist if I could. Been looking at the 981 gts vs the 4 liter but feel like the 3.4 is over-priced for what is now an old car, although they sound better than the 4 liter.

Figured if I'm paying a ridiculous mark up it's going to be for a numbered car.

Thinking of her growing up and being 18 saddens me and brings a tear to my eye.

And surely a rare bird. There is a reason why the Porsche 911 is iconic. Tremendous build quality, performance and practicality for what it is.

But I don't have collectible cars I use everything I buy. Although, I don't see myself putting more than 3k miles on it a year. Just because I'm only driving it in the summer with the top down. And the kids always have something going on, on the weekends.... 

What a beauty!

...is it quiet enough at freeway speeds to be a comfortable road-trip car? I'm thinking 200 miles in a day...cruise to Napa Valley, etc. The only negative I read in reviews about 911s in particular is they can be very noisy inside (tires) over less than p...

I'd be happy with the GT3 (similar engine). But the best Speedster body with the best engine can be an irresistible combination for some!

Waiting for sunny days to drop the top and go for a drive. Correct, the top is all manual in the center council you press a button to release the side flaps and center flap and pop the trunk lid. Then you have to open up the lid manually and push the top ...
