methinks this discussion has run its course.

Hi, xtype,

It's all good. My original post to you had a "smiley" attached, which was intended to mean a little tongue in cheek.

Yes, I agree that original picture you posted was not that bad, though personally I'd be a bit uncomfortable with so much loose gravel all over. I'm not a big fan of sand blasted fenders with bigger dents and dings from flying rocks.  But to each their own.

re: gravel traps and high curbs - I agree they could potentially pose a greater threat than a poorly paved country road, but I never said I raced, and without the pressure to go wheel to wheel (I'm just not that aggressive anymore) one can certainly have the discipline to keep it far enough from the edge to, for the most part, avoid the gravel traps and high curbs / berms. ("edge" meaning both physically and conceptually in terms of "running the ragged edge" or pushing it 9/10 or more)

All of that said, horses for courses and to each their own.

Now that second picture you posted, THAT would give the GT3RS a bit of a clearance problem...certainly one without front lifters, as I tend to prefer...

smile

Cheers,

TM
