. . . was unheard of.  A twin four-barrel version of the same engine was rated at 270 hp.  The novel Rochester fuel injection set-up was fussy and there were few mechanics able to work on it so many original fuelies were converted to twin four-barrels.  Chevy dropped fuel injection for sedans in '58, but kept it for Corvettes until '65, if memory serves correctly.
