And are not sold in most countries, since they are soft compound winter tires, primarily designed for harsher winters, such as in the Nordics, former SU and Canada. Apart from studded tires (with all their massive disadvantages) there is nothing better on snow or ice.
Otherwise optimal tires will always depend on the car, size, country and use profile. Different manufacturers focus on different things, too - and there is no tire that will be best everywhere - Michelin’s all steel radial tires from the late 1940s / early 50s were the last technological leap, where one manufacturer had a clear technological leadership 😊

I noticed the brand Chronoswiss on one car, and Chopard on another. I wonder if that was just by chance?
The cars might have participated in other races…
There was the odd Junghans one, too. Some have had the Mille Miglia under their belt, others the Carrera Panamericana. Some came from DTM, others WRC, Le Mans, etc. 😊👍🏻

At one time, Germany had the most hillclimb venues in Europe and consistently one of the most popular was Freiburg to Schauinsland in the south-western corner of the country. The golden era was from around 1920 to 1939. ...
Unfortunately many of the roads in the area are nowadays limited to 70kph…
But there are still some unlimited highways in the area, where my taxi can reach its top speed on a regular basis 😁😂🤷🏻♂️
