I looked at the GTI as well and even the R could be a viable option BUT this time i really need a diesel to save on fuel-cost ... this car will be written off in 5 years .. so

A couple of months ago i tried the Golf R and wasn't really convinced, i hated the DSG and the variable steering rack, very confusing. On the other hand i tried a BMW 420d Coupé and i loved the ZF and the steering .... .
As for the price .. well i can tell you the offers i got from both were at the exact same level .. and the BMW even offers a bit more, that combined with the technical advantages makes it an easy choice .. i think .. until i look at the Golf .. i love the looks of it.
Practicality ? I'm going to use this car to move stuff around for my job, the BMW offers more room than the Clio so i guess that will do
Decisions .... difficult indeed, i'm still not 100% sure about the Beemer ...

The fun would commend the BMW with the rear wheels.
But the VW is more practical, with its front Wheel drive. Try to drive the BMW when it snows... ;) Best, nicolas

.. the BMW will outrun anything because of the driver ;-) ... i'm going to leave it as it is .. i think ... . Anyway, even a 204 hp 123diesel couldn't outrun my Clio at the racetrack ... so i feel no need to get the power up to let's say 220-230 hp ... . ...
The VW is definitely more sporty looking IMO

Of a 125d. Which supplants the puny single exhaust for a more normal twin unit but more importantly has over 30bhp more for a comparable weight and no other vices (apart from a slightly higher price of entry) :)

The 125d is quite a lot more expensive over here, the facelift is finally supplied with a double exhaust for the 120d and probably also for the lower entry models. And you can't yet order the 125d ... . The actual reason i buy this car is to save money, s...
