Wanted to do a visual comparison of a 39mm and 41mm Royal Oak for those interested 😁.

Sep 07, 2020,08:36 AM

As stated prior, I have a rather small wrist, ~ 16.5cm or ~ 6.5" + or - depending on the humidity. Although I think the 39mm Royal Oak case fits me better, I could not and did not refuse getting a 15407ST in 41mm. The case does wear bigger although it also helps that the bracelet is a but beefier as well which makes up for the thin bracelet of the 15202ST. Have a look at the photos and see for yourself.

Sadly, both are probably too large for me

I'd almost certainly need to go to the 37 or new 34 mm versions. Hoping to try them on at some point!

Mine are about 6"

But more so than small wrists, my main issue is having miniscule hands. Even 38mm dress watches look a bit out of proportion on my wrist because of that.

Thanks for this comparison.

I always felt that the 39mm case was perfect for the RO. The skeleton version is of course superb but it definitely would not work on my wrist (I tried the 41 mm case already a few times without success ....).

I honestly thought the same way and actually owned a 15400ST at one point which I gave to a family member as I thought it was too big. But this 15407ST Openwork seems to fit differently...

and on the wrist, I don't see it as too big. Maybe I am just mesmerized by the double balance and fail to see the size issue, optical illusion πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Both superb. [nt]

Thank you for this comparison!

The thicker bracelet is definitely a good design detail for the costlier open-worked version! I've never owned an AP Royal Oak on a bracelet. Knowing you also have a smaller circumference wrist and that the bracelet fits well on your wrist gives me more c...

Great photo set. We probably all get too hung up comparing with the 15202...

It is just divine, but on that reference it goes beyond the diameter. The thickness, as you point out, makes that one so special. These 41s should be thicker. It is interesting though, if I knew nothing of this brand and only saw your photos, I would thin...

Absolutely. A 44mm Offshore is a bit big on me...

Yet a 47mm Panerai is just fine. So we have to get them on and see in person. I think most anyone can handle a 15202, you also do just fine w/ the 41DoubleB!

They wanted to put the double balance in focus but not necessary IMO.

both looks stunning, I have a pretty thin wrist and do prefer thin and small watch.

I think I'd go for the 15202 even if the complication on the 15407 is stunning.

Two heavy hitters πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» Both lovely!

I have a soft spot for the 15202, but it's also true that I have never seen the 15407 in the flesh. Superb picturesπŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Thanks for showing this magnificent comparison of the 2.

Both beautiful to each of its own. I am sure they can be worn perfectly for different occasions and will look great on your wrist.

Great side-by-side comparison.

Swapped the bracelets today and have a different 15407 😊 for dressier days... ...

Nice Combo. Could be a two watch collection.

Two interpretations of the same case shape. Congrats.

Skeletonized movement in that case is such an oxymoron

Artwork and race car in the same vehicle. Nice!

Super thin bezel on the 407makes it look larger

What a watch!

The crown difference is a big plus in the 15407st favour! Plus it looks great in your wrist shot. Very interesting comparison

I would love to see a 15300t in between them. I love that one!

They are different watches so a bit difficult to compare but I just wanted to make a comparison of the size and thickness for others who wanted to know or were contemplating a possible purchase...

If I also had a 15300ST I would take a few comparative photos for you but unfortunately I don't own a 15300ST πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
